woodrock-logoWoodrock is a non-profit, pro-life, rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing facility that has been providing assistance to unfortunate, homeless, abused, neglected, stray, injured, ill, geriatric and unwanted animals for 13 years and boasts an amazing re-homing hit rate.

The rescue centre provides food, necessary medical care such as inoculations, vaccinations, sterilisations etc. as well as preventative medicine that includes deworming, flea and tick dips etc.

Woodrock is involved with the local community and strives to educate the local people and the public, especially children, on the importance of pet sterilisation and responsible pet ownership. They also educate local communities on the humane treatment of animals. As a township initiative, Woodrock regularly spays and neuters animals from these communities and supplies shelter and comfort to these animals in the form of dog kennels and blankets; providing inoculations and
veterinary services including rabies injections. They also conduct a regular dipping service. In addition, the community is further assisted through the donation of children's supplies and educational material.

Regular book sales provide additional support to Woodrock Animal Rescue. Books that have been donated are sold as well as photographic fine art prints of botanical and landscape material.

Woodrock’s animals have the benefit of an above average rescue centre environment where the animals enjoy a “home to home” opportunity as they are in large free range runs and not confined like in a normal “shelter” situation. Each rescue receives personal attention, touch and love and this promotes the rehabilitation and healing process so that successful re-homing can occur in the
shortest turnaround time possible, thereby creating space for the next rescue.

Woodrock has a reputation that precedes them: “We love animals more than people!”
