Drakensberg (Central) – Antbear Lodge
Would you love to take your pets on holiday with you? What I mean is they are part of your family, why would you even consider leaving them behind?
Antbear Lodge in the Drakensberg Mountains is pet friendly and welcoming. It’s an ideal place with space for your dog to run free and for you to take long walks on the farm together. There is a fenced in unit where you can leave your dog while you explore the area knowing that your child with paws is safe and secure.
Don’t forget to pack food, bowls and bedding as your pets will enjoy their holiday more and feel more comfortable with things they are familiar with from home. The unit sleeps two adults. For the humans, we offer free WiFi, tea and coffee. We offer horse-riding on our farm at a reasonable fee.
Antbear Lodge is one of the few pet-friendly places in the Drakensberg. Beautiful, vast views of the Drakensberg with plenty of ground for our dogs to roam. Walk for hours. Your dogs will be happy with lots of dams to swim in and horses to discover. Two of the accommodation units at Antbear Lodge is fenced in so it’s really easy to leave your dog behind if you would like to explore some of the sights where pets are not that welcome. We don’t have a policy that requires your pet to be on a lead as long as you know your dog won’t chase our sheep, chickens, turkeys, ducks, cats, horses, donkeys and cows, 2 pigs. We have 2 dogs of our own and you need to know if yours is going to interact well or not.
PET POLICY: All dogs, cats, caged birds and horses welcome all year round. Pets sleep inside; bring own pet beds, bedding and bowls. Pets are not allowed on the furniture and dogs and cats must be free of ticks and fleas. Paddocks are available for horses. Consideration must be given to resident dogs, cats, birds, horses, farm animals and wildlife. Pets stay FREE. Doggie Damages Deposit required: NONE.
