Drakensberg (Underberg) – Blackbrook Self-Catering Cottages
Blackbrook Self-Catering Cottages consists of 2 stone clad, thatched cottages, set about 40m apart, with each cottage boasting its own spacious, fully fenced garden. A recent addition to Blackbrook’s accommodation options is a self-catering holiday house.
Situated on the Bushman’s Nek Road just 6km outside of Underberg, Blackbrook is close enough to be able to enjoy the benefits of the towns and all the attractions of the magnificent southern Drakensberg; yet remote enough to experience the tranquillity of the countryside.
Relax next to the braai fire at night whilst listening to reedbuck whistle, frogs croaking and the jackals spine chilling bark; awake to peaceful farm sounds mixed with bird song.
Struan’s Cottage
Struan’s Cottage (sleeps 4) offers: an open plan kitchen/living area with TV and DStv Premium; fully equipped kitchen has granite tops, gas stove, fridge/freezer and microwave; double bunk in lounge; separate bathroom (shower and loo); bedroom has 2 single beds (converted to king on request); outside seating area with umbrella; braai, linen, towels and cleaning materials provided.
PET POLICY: All dogs, horses and caged birds welcome all year round. Pets sleep inside; bring own pet beds blankets, towels and bowls are provided. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture and must be free of ticks and fleas. All inoculations including RABIES must be up to date. Dogs must be leashed when outside the garden.
Guests may walk on the farm but it is advisable to walk below the cottages with dogs, on leashes, and not towards the main house as our dogs are not confined by fences.
Consideration must be given to resident dogs (5 of them). Our dogs are not aggressive, but guests must keep the yard gates closed at all times to avoid confrontations. If all the dogs have made friends, guests may take their dogs to the dams but it is at their own risk. It is not advisable to drive to the main house with your pets in the car our dogs will jump up against the car. We will come down to the cottage and register you.
Please advise number, size and breed of dogs when enquiring to book the cottages. Please keep in mind the steel mesh fence is the normal height it is the guest’s responsibility to ensure their dogs do not jump over the fence or dig under it.
Pets stay FREE. Doggie Damages Deposit required: NONE we work on an honesty policy, and expect guests to take responsibility for any damages incurred.
