Dullstroom – Little Troutbeck
Situated 19km from Dullstroom, Little Troutbeck is a 209ha working farm set high (1900m above sea level) in the mist belt with magnificent views overlooking the Elands River valley.
All eleven of our crystal clear dams are fed from springs on the farm (28 in a good year) and stocked with Rainbow, Golden and Brown trout.
Little Troutbeck is without a doubt a favourite stillwater fly fishing venue as the quality of the fish and the fishing itself is really top class.
The imposing mountains, rivers and grasslands of the Mpumalanga Highlands presents the opportunity for activities such as fishing, birding, hiking, horse-riding, mountain-biking and rock-climbing to mention a few.
ACCOMMODATION
Golden Pond is a double-storeyed wooden cottage with an en-suite bedroom, kitchen and dining area downstairs. Upstairs features an open plan lounge and bedroom with 2 single beds. Heaters are provided in all rooms as are electric blankets on all beds. All utensils and linen are provided. No TV. Radio only. The patio overlooks the 1ha Golden Pond dam.
Rates for Golden Pond:
4 persons – R1550 per night including barbless catch and release fishing.
2 persons – R960 per night including barbless catch and release fishing.
No rod fees are charged. Trout taken are charged at R100 per kg.
Balbeggie Lodge features 3 double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, lounge (no TV – radio only), dining area and kitchen with additional sleeper couches in the lounge for kids. There are open fireplaces in the main bedroom as well as the lounge and the large patio with gas braai overlooking the 3ha Loch Logan dam.
Rates for Balbeggie Lodge:
Full Cottage – R2270 per night including barbless catch and release fishing.
No rod fees are charged. Trout taken are charged at R100 per kg.
Ceilidh Cottage has no electricity with all appliances being either gas or solar powered. Sleeping 8 people in 3 bedrooms, two bedrooms have twin beds and the third has 2 sets of bunk beds. There are 2 bathrooms, a fully fitted kitchen, lounge-dining area and a large balcony overlooking Stephens Reach dam.
Rates for Ceilidh Cottage:
Full Cottage – R2050 per night including barbless catch and release fishing.
No rod fees are charged. Trout taken are charged at R100 per kg.
All weekday bookings are subject to a 20% discount.
PET POLICY: All well-behaved dogs welcome all year round. Dogs sleep inside; bring own pet beds, bedding and bowls. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture. Easy access to walks. Consideration must be given to resident dogs, birds, horses, farm animals and wildlife. Pets stay FREE. Doggie Damages Deposit required: NONE.
