Gansbaai – Klein Paradijs
The loudest sound you’ll hear is the call of the fish eagle.
Klein Paradijs offers rustic farm-style accommodation in five self-catering cottages. Two of the cottages on the 140-ha non-working farm are pet-friendly. The small thatched cottage sleeps two people. It has a bedroom with a double bed, fireplace and ensuite toilet and shower. The large thatched cottage sleeps up to six people in three different rooms. Two rooms have a double bed and one room has two singles. The rooms share a toilet with bath and separate shower. In both cottages bedding and towels are supplied. The kitchen-dining areas of the cottages are equipped with a two-plate electric stove including small oven, microwave, fridge with small freezer compartment, toaster, electric kettle and indoor braai. Basic crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment are supplied. Outdoor braai facilities are also provided. The cottages have enclosed gardens. Wide open spaces, which are ideal for playing all kinds of outdoor games, surround the cottages. Nature lovers are welcome to explore the property on foot. The mountain slope, which is covered in indigenous fynbos, is a Voluntary Conservation Site recognized by Cape Nature. The farm dam is stocked with bass. Catch-and-release fishing is permitted. The rowboat and canoe moored at the jetty are for the use of the guests. Klein Paradijs is located 210 km from Cape Town and 65 km from the busy coastal centre of Hermanus. It is close to the sleepy holiday village of Pearly Beach (2 km away). Klein Paradijs is 20 km from the thriving tourism centre of Gansbaai, 10 km from the quaint hamlet of Baardskerdersbos and 80 km from the southernmost tip of Africa, Cape Agulhas. The area is well-known for its unspoiled beaches, good angling spots, excellent bird watching opportunities, unique fynbos, outstanding land-based whale watching (June to November) and shark cage diving.
