Magaliesburg – Magalies Wild Farm



Magalies Wild Farm is situated in the old Magaliesburg Nature Reserve and is now a private Game Farm where bird and wildlife are abundant. Wildlife on the Farm includes blesbok, impala, kudu, hartebeest, zebra, ostriches, grey duikers, warthogs, as well as night prowlers such as porcupines, honey badgers, cerval cats and jackals.


Walking anywhere on the game farm is safe. There is a well-marked short Forest Walk so remember to bring your walking shoes.


Magnificent secluded Bush Pool overlooking the Magalies Mountains. Your first batch of firewood is supplied free of charge. Game drives can be purchased.


ACCOMMODATION


Loerie Cottage is a self-catering luxury double storey thatched cottage. It offers 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with 2 single beds. Each bedroom has its own shower/toilet en-suite. There is also an upstairs reading room complete with 2 stretchers. Should you have a rainy day there is also full DStv. Loerie Cottage is fully fenced and has a nice doggy area with a dog house for your furry friend during the day.


Sunflower Hut is a self-catering four-sleeper with 2 wooden cabins. There are 4 single beds (2 in each cabin). The kitchen/leisure space is constructed around the cabins, under cover, in such a way that you have an open air feeling. The ablution facilities (shower, basin and toilet) are outside but are all under cover in the same area and for the sole use of Sunflower Hut guests. There is no TV reception but there is a DVD Player and a TV so bring some DVDs along if you want to watch telly. There are also 2 carports and a braai area for guests to use at Sunflower Hut.


Leopard Bush Camp is a self-catering four-sleeper with 2 wooden cabins. There are 4 single beds (2 in each cabin) set deep into the bush, well away from the main dwellings. The kitchen is constructed around the cabins under cover with no bush view obstructions. At the camp you will have hot water, solar lighting, a boma with a fire pit, a gas fridge and a gas stove (no Eskom power), as well as an open sky shower. The toilet facilities are adjacent and under cover. There is also a rooftop tent for your adventurous teens to stay in.


This option is ideal for those who want to experience the thrill of a bush getaway that is very private and has a beautiful view of the Magaliesberg Mountains.


Please Note: you will not be able to access this camp with your luxury vehicle unless you would like it to have its tummy scratched!


Easy day drives to Maropeng, Pilanesberg, Rhino and Lion Park, Sterkfontein Cave, Harties, Rustenburg etc. Many quaint shops and restaurants in the Magaliesburg area.


PET POLICY: All dogs welcome all year round. Dogs can sleep inside or in outside shelters; bring own dog beds, bedding and bowls. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture and must be free of ticks and fleas. Enclosed garden (Loerie Cottage only) and easy access to walks. Dogs must be leashed at all times when outside your camp. Consideration must be given to resident dogs and wildlife. Dogs stay FREE. Doggie Damages Deposit required: NONE.
