Port Shepstone (Umtentweni) – Ambleside
Ambleside is located in the lovely village of Umtentweni, 2km north of Port Shepstone.
We offer guests a choice of 3 separate self-catering apartments, all overlooking a sparkling solar-heated pool with Jacuzzi and lovely garden with a stream running through it.
Wake up to the sound of the waves crashing onto a deserted beach, which is a mere 35 second walk away.
The flexibility of the three apartments allows us to accommodate a couple looking for a private retreat or a large family wanting a venue for a get together.
Costs are based on a family of 2 adults and 2 children per unit. Any more is an extra cost.
Music is not all allowed so if you want to party, Ambleside is NOT the place to be.
The EAST WING is a three-story house built in April 2012 to the highest quality finishes.
On the ground floor is the main bedroom with an en-suite toilet and wash basin. Also on the ground floor is the kitchen which has granite work surfaces, a large fridge/freezer and a fitted gas hob. The downstairs bathroom has a large walk in shower.
The huge living room / second bedroom is on the first floor and boasts a 50-inch plasma TV, as well as Full (satellite) DStv and a PlayStation.
The second floor is an attic bedroom that can be used a dormitory for the children.
The East Wing can accommodate up to 10 guests as long as they don’t mind sharing a room.
The SOUTH WING was completed in January 2015 and has superb finishes. It also has its own garden and offers privacy for those wanting a quiet break.
It consists of two rooms; a studio apartment and a living room / second bedroom.
The South Wing has Basic (satellite) TV and can accommodate 4 adults. Three sleeper-couches will allow a family of up to 7 people at an extra charge.
The NORTH WING has a living room / kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms. Ideally it can accommodate 4 people but two sleeper couches in the living room will also allow 2 more at an extra charge.
The North Wing has Full (satellite) DStv and a DVD player.
All the Apartments have a gas hob, microwave, toaster and a kettle. Complimentary tea and coffee is initially provided.
A free Wi-Fi internet signal can be picked up in all three apartments.
Ambleside guests are all welcome to use the solar heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi. We also have three braais that may be used in the garden and guests are encouraged to bring their own wood/charcoal and firelighters.
Security is good and we have a remote controlled gate as well as a huge area for parking in the garden.
PET POLICY: All small to medium size dogs, cats and caged birds welcome all year round. Pets sleep inside; bring own pet beds, bedding and bowls. Pets are not allowed on the furniture and must be free of ticks and fleas. Enclosed garden and easy access to beach walks. We only have one dog; a border collie called Ozzie. He gets on well with everybody and other dogs. CHARGE for Pets: Please enquire upon booking. Doggie Damages Deposit required: R500 refundable.
