Saldanha Bay (West Coast) – The Beach House
The Beach House is located on the beach in the picturesque coastal town of Saldanha Bay, on South Africa’s infamous West Coast. Only an hour’s drive from Cape Town, Saldanha has the warmest swimming beach in the Western Cape and is a short distance from the bustling tourist hubs of Langebaan (10 mins away) and Paternoster (20 mins away). If your ideal getaway is a quiet beach destination away from the crowds while still being only a few minutes drive from the action, this is certainly the holiday spot for you.
The Beach House consist of two separate luxury self-catering units that are rented separately or together. The House, which is wheelchair accessible and overlooks the picturesque bay, is luxuriously furnished with plush leather couches and Persian carpets, and consists of:
- two double-bed bedrooms that can accommodate 4 guests
- a bathroom with bath and separate shower
- large lounge with fire place
- fully equipped open plan kitchen
- dining room
All this makes it the ideal getaway for those who want a cosy space to relax in.
The Cottage is furnished with modern light furniture and although it does not have direct views over the bay, it is ideal for travellers who need a hub to explore the region from. The Cottage offers you:
- two double-bed bedrooms that can accommodate 4 guests
- one kiddies bedroom complete with two bunk beds that can accommodate 4 kids
- a bathroom with shower
- lounge with fully equipped kitchenette
Both units are equipped with Samsung Smart TVs with streaming TV on demand services; Netflix, Showmax, BBC News, RT and Aljazeera. Guests have access to free unlimited high speed WiFi for their internet needs.
Both units are rented on a self-catering basis. We can arrange for a cleaning lady to come in for guests who would like to make use of the service at an additional charge. Booking the cleaning service in advance is essential as it is subject to availability.
Please bring your own beach towels.
PET POLICY: All housetrained, well-behaved dogs welcome all year round. Dogs sleep inside; bring own dog beds, bedding, bowls and food. Dogs are NOT allowed on our beds or couches or any other furniture and must be free of ticks and fleas and spotlessly clean. Dogs that have been down to the beach need to be dry and sand-free before being allowed inside the house or cottage. Be sure to bring your own towels for drying your dogs as ours are strictly for our human guests. When taking your dogs for a walk on the beach, please ensure that they are kept on leashes at all times. Consideration must be given to our neighbour’s cats as well as our wild tortoises and mongoose that live in the garden area between the beach and house. Please ensure that your dogs do not harass these animals. The yard is walled in and enclosed with a front gate and a beach gate that need to remain closed at all times when your pets are outside. Guests must clean up and dispose of any doggie litter in the garden. We cannot be held responsible for any injuries to visiting pets or any lost pets that manage to escape or get out of the yard. Your pet is your own responsibility while visiting. Dogs are not allowed to be left unattended inside the house or cottage. Pets stay FREE. Doggie Damages Deposit required: R1000 refundable at the end of your stay. Guests will be held liable for damages caused by their visiting pets as well as any additional cleaning services required for pet hair and accidents on carpets, bedding, furniture etc. Please ensure that the house or cottage is handed back in the same clean condition you found it in should you wish to have your damages deposit returned in full.
PLEASE NOTE: The Beach House is fitted with authentic Persian carpets, expensive handmade furniture, crystal ware etc. Repairing or replacing any of these items due to damages caused by pets can be an extremely expensive exercise for the owner of the pet who will be held liable for these damages over and above the damages deposit that has been paid.
